BEHIND EVADNÉ

SO, WHO'S EVADNÉ?
EVADNÉ was a daughter of Poseidon and Pitane, who was raised by Aepytus of Arcadia. She experienced her first love with Apollo, and eventually became a mother. When Aepytus discovered her pregnancy, he was furious, and left to consult the Oracle of Apollo. During the childbirth, Apollo sent Eileithyia and the Moirae to assist Evadné and ease her pain. Evadné gave birth to her child, and had no choice but to leave him in a patch of violets. Five days later, Aepytus returned from the Delphi, where he had been told by Apollo's Oracle that Evadné's child was indeed the son of Apollo and was destined to be a gifted prophet. He demanded that the child be brought to him. The child had been nurtured for those five days by the honeybees that were sent to him by Apollo. Evadné named the child Lamus ("Boy of the Violets"), and he went on to found the Lamidae, a family of priests from Olympia.
EVADNÉ is also my mother's name. My biggest role model in life. I can only hope to be half the amazing woman that she is, someday. My other spurred me on when I had the idea of starting this mini-business, without her, it simply would never have been possible. EVADNÈ is more than just a name to me. Its a gigantic piece of my heart.
THE EVADNÉ COLLECTION
Now, Evadné is also the name of my beloved, limited-edition, slow-hand-made jewellery collection.
My name is Megan Marx, and I am an artist and designer from Pretoria, South Africa. I have a passion for sitting down with my favourite medium, polymer clay, and creating little pieces of art. Eventually, I had the idea to turn my passion into a mini-business, and turn my tiny pieces of art into wearable ones. This store, with its lovely earthy hues and down to earth aesthetic, was the result. I hope you all love my creations and find something you love, as there really is something for everyone. I absolutely love what I have managed to create here, and I hope that you will too.
On that note- welcome to my gallery!
